Kayaking in The Woodlands Texas

Do you want to try something fun and new, yet don't want to spend a lot of money? If your answer is yes, then you should try stand-up paddling or kayaking in The Woodlands!

There are many outdoor attractions and restaurants in The Woodlands, but you can also enjoy yourself paddling in the water surrounding it. There are two large bodies of water (they connect, yet you will find them separated by a waterfall) in the Woodlands: The Woodland Waterway and Lake Woodlands, that you can explore via swam boats, paddle boards or kayaks.

The Row Boat House at Town Green Park, as well as the Lakes Edge Boat House at Hughes Landing, has paddle boards, kayaks, swan boats, and pedal kayaks available for rent, so you can enjoy the great body of water around The Woodlands.

Riva Row Boat House - Link

In 2009, Riva Row Boat House opened as the first public boat rental location in The Woodlands, TX, as part of the booming Woodlands Waterway at The Woodlands Town Center. It is centrally located within walking distance from Town Green Park, Market Street, and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. This boat house sits on the lower waterway, and it takes about 20-25 leisurely minutes to reach Lake Woodlands by watercraft. There are eight family-friendly rental options, including single and tandem kayaks, single and tandem pedal kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, elliptical stand-up paddle boards, water bikes, and swan boats.

Lakes Edge Boathouse - Link

Opened in 2016, Lake Edge Boat House is part of the Hughes Landing development. There is this compact, kiosk-style boat house just south of Restaurant Row between One Lakes Edge and Two Lakes Edge apartments. It docks directly on Lake Woodlands for easy access to Northshore Park and all that the lake has to offer. Rental options currently include single kayaks, tandem kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards. Water bikes are also available at LEBH! Also, At the end of the day, this is the perfect spot to view the sunset.

SUP Rentals: standup paddle board, paddle, and life jacket

Waterbike and Swan Boat Rentals: life jackets

I'm sure you're eager to hop into a kayak and have a great time exploring. However, before you do that, here are quick bunos tips to plan the perfect kayak adventure.

Bring extra clothes and towels

Apply sunscreen and bug spray before getting into the kayak.

Wear sunglasses and a hat.

Bring a water bottle with you.

Only take what you need.
